Summary Of Job Duties
The Surgical Scrub Technician assembles supplies for surgical procedures in our One Day Surgery. They maintain the sterile field, pass surgical instruments, and assist in room preparation.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Graduate of an accredited Scrub Technologist school/program or 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Strong work ethics, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Patient care and/or healthcare related experience

  • Current Certification

  • Two (2) or more years of previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech 


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessment of surgical procedure. Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases

  • Prepares the operating room with appropriate equipment available and ready for use

  • Ensures medical instruments are cleaned, arranged, and transported to the soiled utility room according to department policy

  • Ensures operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases

  • Performs administrative duties, including admitting and discharging patients, ensuring front desk logs and phone books are maintained, and managing infant security system alarms

  • Assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits

  • Performs other duties as assigned
