Position Purpose: Performs various duties specifically connected with protecting the employees, tenants, visitors, guests and property of the Corporation against threat or harm.

• Monitor facility closed circuit television systems and regulate facility access and egress of authorized pedestrian and vehicle traffic
• Conduct continuous inspection tours of assigned areas to assure that doors and windows are properly secured and have not been compromised
• Respond to and document calls for service according to established procedures
• Conduct container inspections of all incoming and outgoing parcels
• Conduct patrols and identify safety and security hazards
• Apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Develop customer service skills necessary to build rapport with employees, tenants, guests and visitors of the corporation
• Communicate security information and ideas in a polite, effective and non-threatening manner
• Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of security, public safety or related experience. Prior law enforcement background, experience preferred.
License/Certification: Ability to obtain Metropolitan Police Department-City of St. Louis or St. Louis County Police Department security officer's license. Proof of prior law enforcement terms and duty certification.

Pay Range: $15.58 - $26.73 per hour
