Position Summary:
Saw Operators work to meet daily production goals safely and efficiently. Saw Operators are expected to promote our Built on Safety mindset, promote efficient cleanliness and working on a team. An ideal Saw Operator will have basic familiarity with technology and be a self-starter who will drive the safe completion of quality product.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates saw(s) including set up, change overs and clean-up
- Interprets job orders assigned
- Understands required grade/quality and inspects finished products for quality standards
- Understands, observes and promotes all safety policies and procedures
- Operates additional equipment related to production
- May assist in training and cross training
- Reports production accurately through utilized programs
- Reports work progress to the Production Management
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of the operation of all machinery and equipment used within primary job duty.
- Maintains certification to operate equipment, if required
- Basic understanding on the operation of electronics for inventory
- Math skills as it relates to lumber
Physical Demands:
- Able to consistently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
- 90% of work to be performed in an environment subject weather, noise, and dust
