Who You’ll Work With

Seeking an Associate Actuary for the Traditional Life Pricing and the Group Benefits team. This position will report to the Head of Life Pricing

Responsibilities

  • Design, price, and implement Life Insurance products, balancing profitability, marketability, and risk.

  • Lead Group Benefits reporting requirements for Minimum Loss Ratio (MLR) under Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), large client annual reporting on their plan performance etc.

  • Assumption development, state filings and approval documents for Traditional Life products

  • Review emerging experience and adjust assumptions and pricing as necessary.

  • Collaborative mindset to work cross functionally (Product Development, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Distribution, Reinsurance etc.)

What we are looking for

  • Proficient in at least one actuarial pricing projection software, ideally PROPHET or AXIS

  • Ability to work well in teams.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Customer oriented individual providing strong customer service to internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated technology skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computer programming (VBA, C++).

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Looking for someone hands-on and willing to learn.

Skills & Requirements

  • New FSA preferred; Career ASA or near FSA with 5+ years of experience will be considered.

  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field. 

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is [insert salary or hourly rate] to [insert salary or hourly rate] at the commencement of employment.  Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
