About The Team and Position:
The Payments team at eBay is integral to ensuring seamless, secure, and innovative transaction experiences for our customers. We are looking for a strategic Senior Manager, PMO to lead key project management functions across our Payments organization. This role will focus on managing complex initiatives that drive innovation, enhance payment experiences, and support process standardization to improve operational efficiency. As the business owner for payments projects, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Finance, Compliance, and Risk teams to deliver scalable, effective solutions that align with eBay's global payment strategy.
Position Requirements:
Team Leadership: You will lead a team of seasoned Payments Program Managers and will provide guidance, mentorship, and development support, driving accountability and collaboration to achieve collective goals.
Strategic Project Leadership: Drive the strategic roadmap for key payments initiatives, overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle from scope definition through to successful deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between payments, finance, product, and tech teams to ensure alignment on business requirements, timelines, and resources needed to complete project goals.
Process Improvement and Standardization: Lead the design and implementation of streamlined, automated processes and develop insights for continuous improvements.
Stakeholder Management: Engage regularly with senior leaders and partners across departments to align project objectives and gather feedback, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Proactively identify risks, initiate mitigation plans, and troubleshoot challenges that arise during project execution.
Metrics and Performance Tracking: Use data analytics to track project progress and key performance indicators (critical metrics), making data-backed adjustments as necessary.
What You Will Bring:
10+ years of project or program management experience, with at least 5 years in a team leadership role.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
Strong understanding of change management, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies.
Proven success managing multiple, large-scale projects with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, MS Project, JIRA).
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP or similar project management certification.
Exceptional communication skills, able to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of using data to support decisions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation in payments or financial services.
What You Will Do:
Program Ownership: Oversee and drive the experience roadmap for payments, serving as the business lead to manage all stages of the product lifecycle.
Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve payments operations, reduce bottlenecks, and deliver effective end-to-end experiences.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage insights and feedback to inform prioritization and make data-driven recommendations for payments initiatives.
Leadership Alignment: Facilitate alignment across senior leadership through clear communication, reporting, and updates on key initiatives.
The role is designed to empower the Senior Manager, PMO - Payments and Financial Services to impact eBay’s global operations positively and directly contribute to our mission of delivering a seamless payments experience for our partners.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$144,000 - $216,150Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
