Reporting to the Sales Director, the Application Development Manager is responsible to drive growth of Hach’s Water Quality Analyzer (Lab and Online) portfolio within the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry by developing application expertise, generating demand, supporting our customers and enabling our commercial teams.

 

The role combines strong technical competency with strategic market development to expand sales across all sectors such as packaged drinking water, non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, dairy, packaged food production, meat processing, edible oil, Agri produce and related F&B segments.

 

This position is part of the India Commercial Organization and will be located in Mumbai / Delhi / Bengaluru and will be on Hybrid work model.

 

In this role, a typical day will look like:

 

Application & Technical Leadership

Develop domain expertise in the commercial team to address customer challenges for water analysis applications through the entire value chain—raw water, pre-treatment, process water, wastewater, and product quality across India’s food & beverage sector

 

Market & Business Development

  • Identify growth opportunities and emerging applications within the F&B sector in India.
  • Develop segment‑specific value propositions, solution bundles, and campaigns.
  • Engage with Central and State regulatory bodies, industry associations, federations, food parks, Food Processing Technology suppliers, Water Treatment Technology Suppliers, Key Opinion Leaders, Consultants
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, participate in tradeshows.
  • Support key account strategies for large Indian & global MNC food producers.

 

Sales Enablement

  • Train and enable the sales, channel, and service teams on F&B applications and value proposition of Hach solutions.
  • Develop application notes, case studies, ROI models, and sales tools.
  • Support proposal development, technical and competitive positioning.

 

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Build strong relationships with plant managers, quality heads, EHS leaders, and engineering teams.
  • Provide technical consultation to customers on selecting appropriate Hach solutions (online analyzers, lab instruments, sensors, chemistries & software).
  • Resolve high‑level technical queries in coordination with service teams.
  • Participate in customer events, seminars, trade shows, and webinars.

 

Internal Collaboration

  • Liaise with Hach & Veralto product management, marketing and R&D to provide insights into product gaps, market needs, and competitive benchmarking.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following from leading institutes

  • Food Technology / Food Processing
  • Environmental Engineering / Water Technology / Chemical Engineering

Additional qualifications in water, quality management, food safety (HACCP, ISO 22000), EHS are an advantage.

TRAVEL : This role is primarily a customer facing role and requires travel across India and neighboring countries for estimated 70-80% of the time.

  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Min 10 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing / technical / quality / environmental compliance with leading Processed Food & Beverage organizations including hands on experience in water pre-treatment, waste-water treatment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian Food Standards & Test Methods (FSSAI, BIS) & successful track record of meeting local and global quality standards, govt compliance & audit requirements.
  • Additional industry end-user facing experience in developing / expanding market opportunities such as Application Specialist, Technical Manager, Product Specialist, Business Development, Sales role will be an advantage.
