Job Description:

The person hired for the position of Product Development Specialist, who will support the projects of Thermal Management platform from CHK Automotive Lab, which would be covered to thermal insulation and high temperature insulation (electric insulation) product and technology, meanwhile, good understanding relevant products & technologies application on electric automotive industry. The person hired for this position will have responsibility to develop new products and refine critical manufacturing processes with expectations of optimal safety, quality, and efficiency.  This position requires an individual with strong professional background, cross function collaboration, and leadership skills, who is a good decision maker with the ability to collect facts and facilitate good projects decisions.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Leading new products development, critical manufacturing process improvement, and/or introduce new technologies to the automotive market.
• Prototyping and making unique products with strong value proposition using 3M technology, customer and market understanding, competitive product knowledge.
• Creating intellectual property and strategy to establish a sustainable competitive advantage.
• Working with cross function local/global teams for knowledge and technology sharing, developing strong working partnerships/networks internal the 3M thermal management platform organization (China & Global), 3M Corporate Labs and other external groups
• Supporting Manufacturing programs having major impact to the COGS initiative.

Basic Qualifications: 
•    Master’s degree or above from an accredited university in Material Science and Technology or Chemistry.
•    Minimum 5 years of material formulating and process development experiences, coating process experience will be a plus
•    Rich experience in new product development and innovation
•    Proactively communicating project direction and status to appropriate personnel, good global teamwork 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience on thermal insulation or high temperature insulation (electric insulation) products formulation development.
•    Experience on new product development process (NPI) and Change Management Process (CMP) 
•    Fluent oral and written English
