We're looking for a skilled and reliable Yard Jockey with a valid CDL license to assist with moving trailers and trucks around our facility. This position does not require driving on public roads, as all duties are performed on company property.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to efficiently maneuver trailers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Safely move trailers and containers around the yard and loading docks, ensuring they are properly positioned for loading and unloading.

• Perform daily inspections of yard tractors and trailers to ensure they are in safe and operational condition.

• Coordinate with warehouse and dock personnel to manage trailer locations and availability.

• Secure trailers by setting the parking brakes, chocking wheels, and ensuring proper placement.

• Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring trailers and equipment are stored properly and safely.

• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or damage to the supervisor immediately.

• Assist with light maintenance tasks as needed, such as checking fluid levels and ensuring equipment cleanliness.

• Follow all company safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

• Participate in distribution responsibilities as assigned when yard responsibilities have been completed. This includes but is not limited to operating a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, and placing products on pallets. 

• Contribute to team productivity goals while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications Include:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid CDL A driver's license with certs to pull 53ft trailers and current DOT

• Valid CDL Class [A/B] license with a clean driving record.

• Previous experience as a yard jockey or similar role preferred.

• Strong understanding of yard and trailer operations.

• Ability to safely operate yard trucks and move trailers in tight spaces.

• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, such as climbing in and out of trucks.

• Medical Card

• DOT drug test

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a yard truck or similar equipment

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication skills

• Ability to lift to 50 pounds
