The Network Automation team supports the Group wide commitment to delivering world-class software tools that optimize processes and increase efficiencies across our technologies. Focused on ensuring maximum leverage of our existing capability, we deliver robust, cost-effective solutions that drive improvements in efficiency, security, resilience and usability. Beyond Design and Engineering, the team have a number of specializations, providing design authority over a range of networking disciplines around Cloud, Network Automation and Core network architecture, leading to better technology tools and platforms to deliver better customer experiences and outcomes.  

As a Chapter Lead, you will be leading team of Platform Engineers under Network Centric Automation team with goal setting, performance, career development and engagement. Provide technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment with other Infrastructure Teams within the Crew. Support the embedding of a positive engineering culture. Ensure adherence to standards and technical quality. Guide complex technical problem solving.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and inspire an engaged team of Engineers.

  • Empower team to manage their work appropriately, respond to queries, address impediments and problem solve technical issues.

  • Provide effective coaching to Engineers and establish mechanisms for peer-to-peer learning and mentoring.

  • Understand how to foster and lead diverse teams and demonstrate commitment to doing so.

  • Role model a culture of engineering empowerment, autonomy, psychological safety and constructive challenge.

  • Understand unique skill sets of team members, providing personalised feedback and guidance.

  • Communicate to senior management and key stakeholders to ensure clear path to execution.

  • Communicate Engineering Practice standards and consistent ways of working across the domain and CBA that align to industry standards.

  • Allocate time for code review, refactoring and tech debt elimination over feature delivery.

Essential Skills:

You are an experienced Chapter Lead, whose career has been focused on Infrastructure automation, network engineering, security and DevSecOps in large-scale enterprise environments.

A summary of highly regarded skills for success in this role include: 

  • Looking for Experience with 12 to 15 Years.

  • Proficient in Infrastructure as a Code - Good understanding of configuration, automation, workflow and task simplification tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipeline, Python, YANG, JSON)

  • Scripting languages for cloud technologies and serverless deployments (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell) are essential with working knowledge of 1 programming language (Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript) 

  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience on Cisco, F5, VMWare NSX, Palo Alto, ASA, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Data centre Technology, Azure/AWS, Knowledge DevOps tools, network security group enforcement policies and firewall management.

  • Cisco Routing and Switching – Advanced level. Adept with BPG, OSPF, STP flavours, Nexus OS, DC Leaf & Spine,

  • Security – Palo Alto NGFW, PRISMA SaaS solution, PA SD-WAN solution, BC Proxies, Cisco ASA NG Firewalls, IPSec and SSL VPNs.

  • Wireless – Cisco Wireless, Juniper MIST Wireless,

  • NAC – ForeScout NAC, Cisco ISE.

Educational Qualification:- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
