About This Opportunity  

The Principal Project Officer coordinates and supervises the delivery of end-to-end digital health research projects, with a specific focus on projects utilising data extracted from integrated electronic medical records (ieMR). Working within the Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC), this role ensures project outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and contributing to consistent, best-practice project delivery across the PMO portfolio. 
 

Key responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Coordinating and delivering complex digital health projects across the full project life cycle, including planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting 

  • Managing project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and timelines in line with agreed methodologies and governance requirements 

  • Developing high-quality project documentation, reports and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders 

  • Contributing to PMO processes, continuous improvement initiatives and supervision of project staff and research assistants 

 

 

This is a part-time (60%)fixed-term position for up to 12 months at Hew level 7. 

 

About You  

 

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health discipline with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience 

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects of similar scale and complexity, including end-to-end delivery 

  • Sound knowledge of contemporary project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PRINCE2) 

  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise work, manage competing deadlines and resolve project issues 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing project documentation and reports 

  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment 

  • Experience working with data linkage projects (desirable) 

  • Practical research skills using qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies (desirable)
