The Coordinator, Float Team – SLPG works in collaboration with the Manager, SLPG Float Team on overseeing the daily operations of the Float Team by efficiently deploying resources to practices in need of coverage due to absences. In addition to supporting the daily operations of the Float Team, in the event that there are limited float resources, this position would travel and provide coverage as a Medical Assistant to an assigned geographic region(s) of SLPG practices.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates various operational and administrative tasks (e.g., overseeing deployment of Float Team resources, training and onboarding new hires) as well as acts as a liaison between the Float Team and practices throughout the various regions to ensure absences are being staffed appropriately with Float Team resources.
Supports Manager, SLPG Float Team to provide a hybrid oversight of processes, workflow execution, employee collaboration, and overall positive patient experience.
Identifies opportunities for improvement and actively supports continuous improvement activities spanning quality, patient satisfaction, and the Float Team’s growth.
In partnership with the Manager, SLPG Float Team, ensures operational readiness for clinical and clerical operations (e.g., updating employee schedules, accessing and interpreting metrics, rounding with team members, updating time management systems).
Serves as a point of escalation and facilitate resolution for operational, technological, patient, and appropriate personnel issues.
Supports orientation and onboarding of new hires, provides ongoing training and timely performance feedback to employees, as appropriate.
Travel throughout regions to conduct routine observations and coaching sessions with Float Team members to ensure quality care and service is being performed.
Supports education of staff regarding operational, technology, procedural and policy changes.
Provides coverage as a Medical Assistant at practices when there are limited Float Team resources available to cover both unplanned and planned absences. This entails preparing patients for examination and escorting them into the exam room and providing other patient care services as needed/directed: keeps exam rooms clean; maintains clinical supplies in exam rooms; cleans and autoclaves contaminated instruments; gives injections or immunizations within State guidelines.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
One year of clinical experience or graduate of Medical Assistant program required. Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting is preferred. Customer service experience is strongly preferred. BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Where applicable, a 30/60/90 day on-boarding checklist will be completed during the on-boarding process for new or transferred employees to confirm mastery of skills relevant to the service line. This on-boarding checklist will be acknowledged by practice leadership or a provider when appropriate; records will be retained at the practice location.
