Field Clinical Specialist - Perfusionist

Position Overview

The Field Clinical Specialist is responsible for providing field guidance, clinical expertise, and training to healthcare professionals on LivaNova Cardiopulmonary products and devices within the assigned countries and therapeutic areas.

This role involves designing, developing, and delivering customer-focused education programs to ensure the safe and optimal use of LivaNova CP products. Training sessions may be conducted in person or virtually and must align with all approved instructions for use.

The Field Clinical Specialist collaborates closely with sales teams, management, marketing, and other internal stakeholders, while supporting customers through education initiatives, clinical expertise, and field activities. The role also requires working with a wide range of healthcare professionals including Perfusionists, Nurses, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Physician Assistants, and Anesthesiologists.

The position requires strong ownership of projects from start to finish and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a highly collaborative approach with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute professional education programs supporting LivaNova Cardiopulmonary products
  • Build and implement a Cardiopulmonary Professional Education plan aligned with business strategy
  • Identify clinical education gaps and develop training initiatives to address them
  • Provide technical and clinical support to customers and internal colleagues Support regional sales managers, account executives, and hospital teams with clinical expertise
  • Serve as a clinical expert to support the field sales organization
  • Coordinate and deliver hospital demonstrations, training sessions, and educational programs (virtual and in-person)
  • Collaborate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and surgeons to deliver workshops and educational events
  • Develop and review educational materials, including procedural training videos and other learning resources.
  • Work closely with Marketing and internal teams to develop and implement professional education programs
  • Conduct field visits to support training, customer needs, and education commitments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including professional societies
  •  Ensure all activities comply with LivaNova compliance policies and industry regulations

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a four-year degree with healthcare/clinical experience
  • Perfusion experience – mandatory
  • Spanish – mandatory
  • Upper-intermediate English – mandatory
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Experience as a trainer or professor in healthcare education programs, preferably within large organizations
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
  • Ability to train and coach clinicians on product use and clinical applications
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure
  • Master’s degree in Education or Pedagogy – a plus
