Job Description Summary:

Provides cardiopulmonary support, cardiovascular monitoring, blood salvage and all related services, equipment and documentation for open heart surgery. Operates and maintains cardiac assist devices and cardiovascular monitoring services in the operating room and throughout the hospital. Provides intra-and post-operative autotransfusion. Provides pacemaker support services intra-operatively and throughout the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Requires a Bachelor degree from an accredited school in a health science related area. Requires a completion of a formal two year extra-corporeal circulation technology training program involving the areas of physiology, biophysics, pharmacology, medical electronics and perfusion technology. Position requires the circulation technologists to remain current in all phases of cardiovascular technology through national/regional meetings of related medical societies, journals, seminars, and consultants, etc. Additionally, must be certified by or eligible for Certification by a recognized board of cardiovascular perfusion. Computer literate in multiple programs and databases. Minimum amount of Experience required for the position is two years of clinical Experience in cardiovascular/perfusion technology. This institution employs one year of professional orientation/probation.
