Sysco LABS’ enterprise technology is present in the end-to-end foodservice journey, enabling the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network and the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer. 

The Opportunity

We are currently on the lookout for an Intern - Operations Engineering to join our team. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to fast track their IT Operations & monitoring career by embarking on a practical journey into IT operations & monitoring consisting of hands-on experience, coaching/training by experienced Managers and complete exposure to a global product delivery setup.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in monitoring Sysco’s global infrastructure and applications on a scheduled roster, supporting 24/7 operations under the guidance of senior engineers
• Supporting the team in proactively identifying potential incidents by using monitoring dashboards to help prevent impacts on Sysco associates and customers
• Helping ensure Sysco’s IT infrastructure and applications remain operational by escalating potential incidents to support teams within defined service level agreements (SLAs), as directed
• Actively engaging and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to learn from their experience and insights throughout the internship period
• Actively monitoring and completing learning objectives to ensure coverage for the duration of the internship
• Actively participating in all training and development sessions

Requirements:

• A basic understanding or coursework in Operations Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar technical areas; prior experience is not required but is a plus
• Must demonstrate a strong problem-solving & analytical mindset, and attention to detail
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be self-driven and a team player
