As a contributing member of the LOCA and Containment Team, you will perform plant thermal-hydraulic safety analysis with two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.

You will support reload and design applications for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (ABWR, BWRX) operating or planned worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform technical evaluations and analyses in the areas of Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, containment response and impact, hydrodynamic and pressurization loads, and fuel performance, with general expertise in two-phase thermal-hydraulic analysis techniques.
• Ensure work is performed with high quality and in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
• Participate in company initiatives, including process improvement and New Product Introduction opportunities.
• Participate in team process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Work in cross-disciplinary settings, engaging with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, and other affiliated organizations to identify optimum customer solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience in thermal-hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems.
• Progress toward completion of an Engineering Master’s degree.
• Edison Engineering Program.
• M.S. in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university with experience in thermal-hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems.
• Experience with BWRs.
• Experience with 10 CFR 50.46 regulations.
• Experience with best-estimate and CSAU applications.
• Experience with T/H system codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, or RETRAN.
• Experience with programming (C#, FORTRAN, PYTHON).
• Decisiveness and the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs and ensure that they are met; measures processes and performance through the customer's eyes.
• Team player, building connections with the team through personal involvement and trust.
• Ability to seek simple solutions to complex problems.
• Communicates in an open, candid, clear, and consistent manner.
