Fedora QA team is dedicated to ensuring the continuous quality of Fedora releases. Our team develops, maintains, and uses a suite of tools to automate both the testing and the related processes. We regularly work with other teams and contributors in and outside of Red Hat.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer. In this role, you’ll bring both your technical expertise and QA mindset to ensure that Fedora’s releases adhere to quality standards. This is a hands-on position with significant room for initiative and creativity. You’ll play a key role in investigating issues, designing workflows and processes, and working across departments to coordinate and prioritize new features.
Design, implement, and maintain tests and processes for Fedora release testing.
Develop and maintain automation of tests and QA related processes.
Engage with other Red Hat teams to coordinate on cross-functional projects and issues.
Participate in Fedora community discussions to address quality-related concerns.
Python Development: Proficient in Python, with experience creating tools, scripts, or applications.
In-depth Linux knowledge: Ideal candidates are daily Linux users, possibly running their own server, multimedia center, or similar. Practical familiarity with the intricacies of the Linux environment is essential.
Quality Assurance Mindset: Able to break and fix systems, with a knack for identifying potential issues and a commitment to thorough investigation.
Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues independently.
Effective Communication: Experience communicating effectively with other teams and departments across a broad organization
Adaptability: Able to prioritize and switch tasks in a dynamic environment.
The following are considered a plus
Familiarity with frontend development, UI/UX, or design principles.
Familiarity with database and system design.
Experience with OpenShift.
A keen interest in a wide spectrum of IT related topics.
