Your role

You'll be a part of our Catering team based in Melbourne and will work closely with the kitchen and Back of House Team. Our friendly, supportive and collaborative team is part of the broader Business Operations Department, which covers Concierge, Records Management and Facilities Management.

Our Corporate Catering team prepare a variety of innovative, on-trend food items to enhance the experience of our clients. Our team can accommodate a number of clients events, from a formal breakfast, lunch and dinner to canapés for cocktail events and corporate seminars.

As a Kitchen Hand in our Catering team you will:

  • Maintain a clean, hygienic and orderly kitchen at all times. This includes cleaning the kitchen, dining and food preparation areas, clearing and cleaning of all dishes and equipment.
  • Provide assistance to the chef with preparation of staff dinner and take ownership of the setup and the service of dinners to staff.
  • Assist with servicing internal tearooms, including cleaning tearooms, coffee machines and dishes.
  • Manage stock control, storage and rotation including unpacking daily deliveries, ensuring correct storage procedures are followed, tidying the store room and constant rotation of all consumables.
  • Assisting with food preparation under the instruction of the Chef.

This is a permanent opportunity. Working hours are 12pm – 8:45pm (Monday – Thursday) and 12pm – 5pm (Friday).

About you

You will have:

  • The ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment.
  • Experience working as part of a team providing excellent service to a range of customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • A food handling certificate and experience in food preparation in a corporate environment is highly desired.
  • A passion for food.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others
