At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join a cross-functional operations organization supporting Lunar programs. This role is critical to ensuring alignment across multiple production lines that feed into vehicle programs.

Operating in an early-development environment, you will be instrumental in building foundational processes, schedules, and cross-functional coordination mechanisms necessary for production success. You will bridge the gap between current operational needs and the future implementation of enterprise planning tools, ensuring continuity and accountability throughout the transition.

Responsibilities:

  • Define & Protect Scope – Establish clear program boundaries and manage scope across multiple concurrent workstreams; proactively identify and escalate scope creep risks to maintain schedule and resource integrity
  • Identify Long-Lead Risks Early – Conduct forward-looking risk assessments to identify long-lead items including tooling, supplier qualification, hardware readiness, and material availability; develop mitigation strategies in partnership with supply chain and engineering
  • Establish the Schedule Skeleton – Build and maintain the integrated master schedule (IMS) framework across production lines; define critical path dependencies and key milestones that align with vehicle-level deliverables
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment – Serve as the connective tissue across the business unit, including vehicle programs, manufacturing engineering, test, production support, and downstream operations; facilitate regular coordination forums and ensure consistent communication across all stakeholders
  • Define Success Metrics – Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for schedule adherence, production readiness, and cross-functional execution; report progress and risks to senior leadership
  • Enable Business Rhythm – Design and implement recurring operational cadences (e.g., weekly syncs, milestone reviews, readiness gates) that drive accountability and decision velocity in the absence of mature ERP/MRP systems
  • Support ERP/MRP Transition – Partner with business systems and IT teams to inform requirements and ensure successful adoption of enterprise planning tools; bridge manual processes to automated workflows
  • Lead and Develop Team – Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to direct reports; foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in technical program or project management within aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programs spanning design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test operations
  • Proven ability to build and maintain integrated master schedules (IMS) with critical path analysis across multiple interdependent workstreams
  • Experience driving programs through early design phases including requirements decomposition, trade studies, and design reviews (PDR/CDR)
  • Strong working knowledge of production operations including component fabrication, assembly, and test support processes
  • Experience identifying and mitigating long-lead risks including tooling, supplier qualification, and hardware readiness
  • Ability to translate technical constraints into actionable program decisions and communicate clearly to both engineering and executive audiences
  • Experience managing programs with significant hardware deliverables and schedule accountability
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent vehicle programs within a single production organization
  • Familiarity with vehicle component production pipelines feeding both flight and test operations
  • Experience working within a vertically integrated aerospace manufacturer where design, manufacturing, and test functions are co-located or tightly coupled
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and production data tools
  • Exposure to supply chain forecasting and material readiness processes in a high-tempo production environment
  • Experience operating at the intersection of design maturity and production readiness—translating early engineering decisions into downstream production impacts
  • Demonstrated ability to drive schedule accountability and decision velocity in ambiguous, fast-moving program environments
