Job Title: Kennel Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and compassionate Kennel Assistant to help care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will assist with feeding, cleaning, exercising, and monitoring the health and behavior of animals under our care. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, sanitary, and nurturing environment for pets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect animal kennels, cages, and common areas

  • Feed and provide fresh water to animals according to schedules and dietary needs

  • Walk, exercise, and provide enrichment to animals

  • Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or distress and report concerns to supervisors or veterinarians

  • Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning, medications, and observations

  • Restock supplies and ensure cleanliness and organization of the facility

  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to pet owners

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior experience working with animals (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Comfortable working with dogs and cats

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays

  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to animal needs

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to animal bites, scratches, loud noises, and unpleasant odors

  • Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions

  • Fast-paced and physically active environment
