About the Role & Program
The Disney PhotoPass Marketing & Communications team is responsible for leading all aspects of the marketing, social media, and communications for Disney PhotoPass® Service at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. The team’s efforts focus on developing and implementing marketing and communications strategy, leading campaigns, crafting collateral, writing communications for Cast Member and Guest audiences, identifying collaborative opportunities, and setting strategy and creating photo and video content for multiple social media accounts. The Digital Content Intern will be an important contributor to this team, supporting many of these responsibilities in impactful ways. This internship offers a one of a kind opportunity to build significant contributions to social media, marketing, and communications while forming many partnerships across The Walt Disney Company!
What You Will Do
This intern will be responsible for the development and execution of tactics that support the Disney PhotoPass Service brand. The focus of this internship will be to ideate and build digital content for the Disney PhotoPass marketing initiatives. The individual in this role will work with various professionals and accumulate a vast assortment of work experience.
Day-to-day tasks could include…
- Capturing photo and video content to use in short- and long-form videos that align with the Disney PhotoPass social media and marketing strategy and goals
- Developing social media videos from concept to completion including: creative briefs, story-boards, filming, post-production editing, and final product delivery
- Facilitating photo and video shoots to capture engaging social media content based on the latest trends
- Collaborating with various partners to acquire approvals and ensure the final product meets all of the brand guidelines
- Presenting content to leadership and applying feedback in a timely manor
- Contributing to weekly creative brainstorming sessions
- Conceptualize, research, and design graphics for social media, marketing, and communications
- Contributing to marketing and communications projects as assigned
While the majority of this role is spent in an office environment, the Digital Content Intern will also spend time in Walt Disney World Resort while on the job. The intern will frequently visit the four theme parks and Disney Springs to capture video and photo content, contribute to marketing photo shoots, and other various onsite support. Visits to the theme parks and Disney Springs could be during the standard workday or outside of daily operational hours.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Prior professional experience in digital content creation, and/or video production. Prior experience in marketing and communications is a plus
- Proven track record of working creatively with various types of cameras
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Audition is a plus
- Dedicated attention to detail when crafting photo, video, and graphic design content
- Proven track record of capturing and editing video and photos in a professional setting
- Proven self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks
- Ability to take direction on certain tasks while working with minimal instruction on others
- Professionalism when working with many different types of partners
- Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced video editing skills and knowledge of professional camera equipment
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Demonstrated marketing and communications skills, including writing for a variety of platforms and assisting with strategy
- Experience with social media platform management tools
- Passion for storytelling
- Experience leading projects
- Solid understanding of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort
- Passionate about Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and other key brands
- Previous experience working for the Walt Disney Company is a plus
Education
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior, or graduated within six months of application submission, pursuing a degree in Digital Media, Video Production, Multimedia, Videography, Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related major
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- This internship is a primarily on-site position - Must be able to provide a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
- Program length - The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 - June 2025
- Work details - Must be able to work FULL TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
