Group ESG Financial Controller

The Group ESG financial controller reports directly to the Head of Group Reporting & Finance Operations, Mie Boesen Huss. This is a global position based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key Responsibilities

As Group ESG financial controller, you will be working closely with Finance and other cross-functional colleagues in the Svitzer Head Office and our regions to deliver on the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with CSRD & ESRS regulations and standards.
  • Create and maintain frameworks for ESG reporting that align with industry standards and good practices.
  • Integrate ESG data into financial systems and ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strong reporting processes around ESG metrics.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to support compliance and quality in data.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure ESG data and reports meet audit standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices within the area.
  • Support ad hoc projects, when relevant.

Who, we are looking for?

You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Essential to your success in this role is your ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across various levels and functions of the Svitzer organisation.

In addition:

  • A relevant master’s degree in accounting, Auditing or Finance and comes with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working within ESG or financial reporting and controlling.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory requirements within CSRD and ESRS and have a natural curiosity in understanding how industry practises and legislation are evolving.
  • Experience in collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Good understanding of IT and consolidation system to support solid reporting templates/framework.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English.
  • You must hold a valid Danish residence and work permit.
