Job Summary:

Under direction of the VP of Tax, the position is responsible for US GAAP tax accounting & reporting, including income tax compliance and income tax audits, leading a team of tax professionals to successfully meet all income and operating tax compliance requirements at the federal, state and local tax levels.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate financial reporting and disclosure for all aspects of US GAAP and SEC quarterly and annual  tax accounting and reporting including the ASC 740 tax provision process.
  • Identify, analyze and document exposures for FIN 48/ASC 741-10 reserves.
  • Identify and resolve GAAP technical tax accounting matters as they arise.
  • Calculate quarterly and annual effective tax rates; work with treasury team to forecast cash taxes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to successfully meet income tax compliance requirements for quarterly estimates and annual income tax returns.
  • Provide review/oversight for all other operating tax compliance requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team.  Identify current and future talent needs, assess strengths and gaps, and put development strategies in place.
  • Ensure that the tax team’s tax accounting processes, documentation and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of developments to the management team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to tax laws.
  • Manage technology and processes to ensure efficient and effective data gathering for tax return purposes; develop new policies/procedures as needed for tax compliance; recommend change and where needed to improve processes; maintain concurrent audit-ready workpapers and financial records for all filings.
  • Manage income and other tax audits and inquiries by government authorities.
  • Assist to identify, analyze and implement tax planning opportunities, including for M&A transactions and business initiatives.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting  
  • 10 or more years experience combined public accounting and corporate tax
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA preferred
  • Ability to exercise discretion
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
  • Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team
  • Advanced deductive reasoning and analytical skills
  • Experience in Microsoft, specifically Excel
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Experience manipulating and interpreting data
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
