About This Opportunity

The School of Languages and Cultures is driving the development of a national eResearch infrastructure project called the Language Data Commons of Australia (LDaCA). The project was initiated in 2021 as a national infrastructure project that supports language work and language research through co-investment from ARDC. It continues to work towards establishing sustainable long-term repositories for ingesting and curating language data collections of national significance. The project aims to support appropriate access, enable analysis and increase awareness of Australia’s rich linguistic heritage.

The Project Office - Indigenous Languages provides research and technical support to the Language Data Commons of Australia (LDaCA) project. The position reports to the Project Manager, Industry Engagement and Communications (LDaCA) and will support Chief Investigators of the project. The role will also engage in cross-functional collaboration to achieve common goals within the project by combining expertise and working effectively with other LDaCA focus areas.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the successful delivery and administration of aspects of the project cycle, including planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation to support the successful completion of the project.

  • Coordinating the development and management of project documentation, in particular production of how to guides and training materials.

  • Organising and supporting the delivery of project-related activities, events, consultation activities and meetings.

  • Undertake a range of administrative activities to support the project team, including note taking;  summarising for reports and briefs; and undertaking complex data entry, retrieval, and document management.

  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, including planning, developing materials, and facilitating stakeholder participation in the project.
