The NVIDIA Math Libraries team is seeking interns in the area of quantum computing software development. We have extended NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform that has revolutionized HPC and AI, with the cuQuantum SDK. This exciting product helps researchers and framework builders in Quantum Computing (QC) tackle larger problems faster and increase the pace of innovation.
During this internship you will work closely with engineering and research teams across NVIDIA to help design, develop, and optimize software to accelerate different elements of QC workflows. Ideal candidates will have a curiosity about developing proof-of-concept implementations quickly and a willingness to iterate on those. Are you passionate about groundbreaking technology? If so, we would love to learn more about you!
What you'll be doing:
Assist with software engineering activities around proof-of-concept development of creative and innovative algorithms.
Collaborate with team members and specialists from other teams to understand software use cases and requirements
Help productize new functionality through design, development, debugging, testing, and documentation under the mentorship of senior engineers on your team
Analyze the performance of GPU or CPU implementations and find opportunities for algorithmic or implementation improvements
Present your results and findings throughout your internship
What we need to see:
Pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, or other related science or engineering field
Experience with quantum algorithms, programming systems, or hybrid classical/quantum computations
Strong software development skills with C++ and Python
Strong fundamentals in algorithms and numerical methods, particularly linear algebra
Good teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with Tensor Networks or State Vector methods for Quantum Circuit Simulations
Parallel programming experience using multi-threading
CUDA C++ programming experience
