Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic recent college graduate to join our software engineering team as an Associate Software Engineer. In this role, you will help develop and support point-of-sale (POS) software solutions that power retail and restaurant operations. Working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and product teams, you will gain hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining cloud-based software applications while building a strong foundation in modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other team members to develop and enhance POS software applications.
• Assist in translating business and customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Write, test, debug, and maintain application code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in software design discussions and contribute ideas for improving products and processes.
• Support the integration of software components and third-party systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior team members.
• Learn and apply cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and automation tools.
• Help monitor application performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile development environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field obtained within the last 0-2 years.
• Internship, co-op, academic project, or personal project experience involving software development.
• Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of databases, APIs, and web application concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow within a software engineering career path.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, or Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with SaaS applications, retail technology, restaurant technology, or POS systems through academic projects, internships, or coursework.
• Experience participating in coding clubs, hackathons, open-source projects, or technical organizations.
