Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons has an opening for an DevOps Engineering Manager 2, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be an on-site position located in Northridge, CA.
The candidate selected for this position will also assume a part-time 20-30% functional manager role and will have responsibility for supporting direct reports with staffing, knowledge transfer, training, educational reimbursement, and the Workday performance management lifecycle (goal planning, midpoint reviews, year-end reviews, alignment/calibration, and compensation planning).
This position reports to a Software Engineering Sr Manager.
As an integral part of our Software Configuration team in Defense Systems you will focus on leading Software Configuration Management team to develop, enforce, and maintain Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large- and small-scale programs in accordance with the Organization’s Standard Software Process (OSSP) and contractual requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products
Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable
Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development
Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use
Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use
Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards
Support senior manager in executing the strategy to motivate and to ensure a high performing engineering team. This includes use of Development Plans, stretch assignments, 1:1 feedback, coaching, training, and other tools
People leadership for the software organization, to include performance management, employee engagement and recognition
Manage the workload of the employees and balance employee needs with business goals.
Apply sound software engineering principles, metrics, and ensure compliance with all published processes and standards in our technical solutions
Ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost & schedule objectives
Manage the staffing profile for a software team of 12+ Software engineers and/or Modeling & Simulation engineers
Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees
Basic Qualifications for a DevOps Engineering Manager:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field with 9 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or master’s with 7 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, or PhD with 4 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience
Must have experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery
Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards is required
Must have knowledge of scripting languages
Experience with multiple tools and environments (Git, Bitbucket, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux and Windows)
Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with implementing SCM on a large-scale program
Experience with configuration and administration of DevOps tools, CI/CD concepts, and automated build pipelines
Experience in development and maintenance of Jenkins Pipelines & scripts
An active Security Clearance

Salary Range: $151,900.00 - $227,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
