Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Program Developer, Continuing Education (FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE) [R0142251].
ROLE of the POSITION
This position reports to the Director of Program Development – Continuing Education and is part of the Division of Educational Outreach. The ideal candidate is a team player that has a passion for lifelong learning and experience in developing non-credit personal enrichment and professional development programs. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of fiscal management of programs, and strong organizational and planning skills.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Provide oversight and ensure educational, operational, and fiscal success of continuing education courses in assigned content areas
Identifying emerging education needs and proposing new offerings to meet the demands of the changing economy, emerging workforce, and new technologies to continue to expand the portfolio
Development of new programming that meets the needs of the community
Budget, fiscal, and student experience management responsibility, as well as identifying additional funding sources for the relevant programs
Recruiting, hiring, and training all instructors in the programs and courses in portfolio
Responsible for the overall quality of the educational offerings
Professionally representing the UNLV Continuing Education department with appropriate university departments, business and industry, government, education, community, and workforce partners.

At the Division of Educational Outreach, we work with UNLV instructors, deans and faculty across campus to make learning more accessible to students in Las Vegas and beyond. We also work in conjunction with employers to develop and implement company and business-specific training, we conduct survey-based research at community, state and national levels, and we protect and help connect you to Nevada’s public lands. Adult, senior and part-time students, military personnel, government employees and those unable to attend traditional campus-based classes comprise the more than 30,000 students we serve annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 2 – 3 years of program development and management in an educational setting. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree and 3-5 years of program development and management in a continuing education or other workforce preparation environment.
