About the Role
As a Senior Tax Accounting Manager, you’ll be working in a dynamic finance team dealing with various U.S. and international tax laws in a well-compensated, rapidly expanding Fintech company. The position is based in Redmond, Washington.

This position is responsible for the Company’s tax environment, including but not limited to the tax planning, reporting, regulatory compliance and process improvements. The position will be responsible for the preparation and filing of the Company’s corporate income and sales taxes (federal and state), transfer pricing agreements as well as new tax registration necessities and nexus reviews as well as the establishment of internal tax processes. This person will report directly to the VP of Accounting, assist the Business on expansions and new product initiatives, perform domestic and international tax analysis, and provide tax guidance that the business will use in the decision process. The Company also works closely with external tax advisers.

  • Compensation Range: $143,000 - $166,117

Compensation ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of US federal, state, and local taxes filings. 
  • Also responsible for the accurate and timely completion of New Zealand income and other tax filings.
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation of the federal and state income tax provisions under IFRS, ASC740 and FIN 48.
  • Responsible for US Sales and Use tax, property, franchise, gross receipt, abd payroll tax compliance.
  • Responsible for sales and income tax nexus reviews and adherence.
  • Responsible for adherence with the Company’s transfer pricing agreements.
  • Analyze and review the tax impact of the inter-company transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate across tax, finance, treasury, and with external tax providers to ensure compliance with US international income tax compliance, US withholding tax requirements, and assess areas of risk.
  • Establish internal tax processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly calculations tax expense, tax liability and deferred tax while ensuring.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax authorities to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Support operationalization of various tax strategies and potential changes to end-to-end tax requirements.
  • Actively participating in projects that have a tax impact throughout their life-cycle – from planning, research, modeling, including communication of tax implications to broader management.

What You Bring

Education

  • 8+ years of progressive experience with corporate income taxes, including compliance and tax accounting in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • BS Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Demonstrated understanding of IFRS, ASC 740 and FIN 48
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experienced with NetSuite is welcomed
  • Knowledge of Avalara, or other data analytics tools desirable
