Primary Role:

The Regional Manager retains the ultimate responsibility for directing branch resources to ensure effective and profitable operation and growth. They are accountable for maximum return on invested capital, formulation, and execution of short-term and long-range objectives, development, and implementation of branch’s basic organizational operating plans and policies, and the establishment of controls for operating efficiency.

The Regional Manager is also responsible for directing the assigned branch with the objective of providing maximum profit and return on invested capital, establishing short-term and long-range objectives, plans, and policies in alignment with the company’s core values.

The Regional Manager reports to the VP of Technologies. The regional manager works with their direct supervisor to develop appropriate action plans and future customer requirements, all of which are ultimately approved by the VP of Technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual and long-range plans and strategies for development, marketing, sales, and profits; places individual accountabilities to meet established plans
  • Establishes goals and performance criteria for branch operations, including financial, and measures performance on a regular basis.
  • Regularly conducts detailed reviews of assigned branch operations, including overhead control, proposals, and technical performance; consistently and thoroughly fulfills the following monthly responsibilities:
    • Timely completion of billings
    • Ensuring jobs are billed in a manner to ensure proper cashflow
    • Collection of Accounts Receivable
    • Oversight of overhead budget
    • Ensuring revenue goals and gross profit margin goals are met
    • Prior to month close, review newly awarded projects to ensure budgets are setup and projects are kicked off
    • Prior to month close, works with Project Managers to review newly closed projects to ensure proper project closeout completion, customer signoff and documents have been saved appropriately to minimize company risk
  • Attends, directs, and may handle assigned project review meetings and documentation.
  • Responsible for periodic project site visits, QA/QC, and ensuring quality of work
  • Ensures project controls functions are completed, including but not limited to: Project kickoff, Project Budget Setup, Costs are accurately applied and coded, Purchase Orders are entered and appropriate within COINs
  • Regularly reviews project budget setup for branch projects in COINs
  • Regularly reviews CRM for upcoming projects to plan, schedule, manage, and delegate resources
  • Leads, directs, and implements approved division and company policies and procedures
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to supervisor for new hires, promotions, salary increases and awards of incentive, and compensation for key employees and confirms proper backup for recommendations are included with requests
  • In partnership with supervisor, HR, and the VP of Technologies, reviews and approves the appointment, employment, transfer, or termination of all key employees
  • Works closely with supervision to ensure proper mentoring is being provided and that mentoring documentation and tracking is being kept
  • May devote some portion of time in the performance of work, which is purely technical (i.e., project bid reviews, training, meeting participation, etc.
  • Prescribes specific limitations of the authority of subordinates regarding policies, contractual commitments, expenditures, and personnel actions
  • Plans for the development of personnel resources and maintains programs which will encourage the successful future management/performance of the branch
  • Maintains relationships with other businesses and, together with other senior company managers, promotes public relations and business development activities of the branch and company
  • Must be proficient at reviewing, understanding, compiling, and acting upon COINs information and financial reporting.
  • Maintains the adequacy and soundness of the financial structure by establishing effective control techniques, permitting appropriate delegation of responsibility and authority to satisfy fiscal needs and conserve company assets
  • Oversees the development of operating and capital expenditure budgets; ensures that appropriate financial systems and controls are maintained
  • Monitors all aspects of financial performance; ensures that the branch operates within budget and available resources
  • Ensures that staff productivity and morale are at high levels
  • Maintains open door policy for employees
  • May at times, as needed and appropriate, take on Project Management responsibilities
  • Holds self and others accountable for company policies and procedures
  • Works through job execution issues that come up
  • Develops close relationship with field management/supervision
  • Can manage a P&L
  • Drives company strategy, is an example of a team player, and communicates company initiatives in a positive and productive manner
  • Engages in and is responsible for communicating career path and employee development needs/initiatives
  • Directly responsible for the administration and tracking of branch resources including training, vehicles, and tool tracking

Requirements:

  • 15 years of experience in the low voltage industry including at least five years of senior management experience
  • Requires knowledge of business administration, finance and banking, economics, law, accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mus have excellent analytical and conceptual skills, problem solving methodology, communication, and strong presentation skills
