Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems is seeking an Operations Manager Site III position over Rocket Motor Case Fabrication and Preparation for our Case Manufacturing Building at our Copper Crossing Facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Job Description:

Role description & Responsibilities:

This position has direct leadership responsibility over the case manufacturing building in its entirety from case fabrication to case preparation for Rocket Motor Case production; utilizing people, equipment, tooling and facilities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, employee development, and cost objectives are met.

This includes the following:

· Oversee the day-to-day production activities which are accomplished through subordinates (Shift Managers, Lead Manufacturing Technicians and Technicians).
· Works with Value Stream Element Team (VSET) leads, Engineering, Production Control, Quality and other internal and external contacts to ensure process readiness, resolve issues real-time and strategically prepare for the future.
· Direct development and implementation of continuous improvement objectives within the area to improve safety, assure product quality, decrease product cycle time, and reduce costs.
· Ensures strong and open relationships with senior leadership, employees, support groups and customers.
· Maintains a very high level of equipment uptimes.
· Fosters a strong workplace culture of professional development, personal accountability, and enjoyment.

Job Duties:

· Successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal/leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to work with and satisfy internal and external customers and suppliers as well as a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
· Successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Candidates should demonstrate effective presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate initiatives, plans, and expectations. Applicants should be proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and use of manufacturing software systems.
· Successful candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to the Northrop Grumman business Code of Ethics, the ability to lead others, build teams, and create an environment of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles.
· Successful candidate should have a proven history of employee retention by creating a positive work environment that is motivating, engaging and evokes tenacity by empowering employees through their passionate leadership.
· Successful candidate should have a proven track record of schedule adherence, equipment operational availability and overall efficiency.
· Successful candidate must be able to work flexible and changing shift schedules; day or night shifts, including weekends if necessary. This position will oversee 24 hour operations, 7 days a week.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, Master’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or 13+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
· 6 years of experience leading teams
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering, Functional Support Management, and all other business personnel.
· Experience with resource planning and budgeting

Preferred Qualifications:

· 6+ years of demonstrated successful people leadership experience – including experience managing large scale organizations of 20 or more individuals
· Hands-on experience developing and managing budgets with fluency in earned value management and proven history of effectively managing a manufacturing organizations budget
· LEAN manufacturing and process improvement experience
· Experience in implementing affordability initiatives that improve first time product quality, drive down overall cost, and/or improve schedule
· Experience in supporting Root Cause & Corrective Action analysis using multiple methods such as fault trees, Kepner Trego analysis, 5 Why’s, etc.

Salary Range: $129,000.00 - $193,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
