Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Assembler – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in East Hartford, CT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assembler will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, can perform tasks under a microscope on very small assemblies; has a high level of attention to detail and quality. The chosen candidate must be able to multi-task and flex between multiple assignments.
In this job, you will:
Works from diagrams, drawings, procedures and parts lists making early-stage subassemblies using hand and/or power tools.
Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by a Cognizant Engineer.
This position may perform actions in Manufacturing areas including Mechanical Assembly, Circuit Card Assembly, Microelectronics Production, and Electronic Component Assembly depending on the business need or workload capacity.
This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance
Ability to perform tasks under microscope on very small assemblies with outstanding manual dexterity and precision.
Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic proficiency with PowerPoint
Ability to wear basic PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), such as gloves, safety glasses, etc. as noted in process requirements
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance
Ability to perform tasks under microscope on very small assemblies with outstanding manual dexterity and precision.
Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 year Technical Degree
Soldering experience at a Class 3 level
Previous or current certifications in IPC-620 and/or J-STD 001.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
