Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree or Nursing Diploma plus seven (7) years of experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience or
Bachelors in Nursing and RN License plus five (5) years of experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience required.
Arkansas RN License, CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft office software including excel, word, and PPT.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook email/calendar and electronic medical record software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with primary or comprehensive stroke center care.
Clinical experience specific to stroke care or experience working with hospitals to implement and maintain a patient care service.
Specialized certifications in ED, stroke or other nursing specialty.
Advanced skill with data analytics software.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Provides clinical support to ensure that hospital emergency department staff are successful in treating acute ischemic stroke.
Ensures the IDHI Stroke Program clinical protocols are kept up with best practices.
Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the IDHI Stroke Program and develop solutions within assigned IDHI Stroke Program hospitals and telemedicine facilities.
Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to guide the ED physicians and care teams on the care of stroke patients that is family and patient-centered.
Participates in formal quality, performance improvement, and research projects annually or as needed.
Consult directly with the IDHI Stroke Program Director of Operations and the Assistant Director.
Participates in outreach activities for the UAMS IDHI Stroke Program.
Conducts quality reviews of live tele-stroke consults and provides feedback to the hospital Nurse Facilitator for areas of improvement within the consult including the NIHSS assessment and the administration of alteplase.
Provides leadership to hospital management and care team providers through appropriate means when corrective actions are required.
Assist assigned hospitals with required community outreach initiatives when needed.
Maintains the IDHI Stroke Program training and clinical protocols keeping all current with best practices.
Evaluate the program to address identified deficiencies/learning needs within the IDHI Stroke Program hospital, and telemedicine facilities.
Understands and assures the use of appropriate IDHI Stroke Program clinical education program initiatives and imparts this knowledge to hospital faculty/staff across Arkansas as appropriate.
Identifies barriers or concerns that interfere with the learning process and suggests alternatives for a resolution.
Takes a proactive approach towards hospitals and agencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
