Senior Warehouse Manager

Job Description

 

About the Role: 

 

Brooks is a prominent leader in the semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Manager to enable best in class Materials Management and material flow in and out of the manufacturing areas at our brand-new Greenfield facility in Malaysia. 

 

As the Senior Warehouse Manager, you play a pivotal role in overseeing warehouse processes within our brand-new factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia with your key responsibilities encompassing planning and operations activities including receiving, storing, kitting, replenishing and shipping goods as well as managing inventory, team performance, and safety compliance. You will ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, achieve inventory accuracy and coordinate order fulfilment in meeting customer demands. 

 

Work Location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Strategic and Leadership: 

  • Define warehouse strategy, capacity planning, and layout optimization aligned with business growth and product roadmap.

  • Translate manufacturing demand plans into warehouse manpower, space, and system requirements.

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse manager, supervisors, team leads, material handler, clerks.  

  • Set warehouse KPIs, targets, and continuous improvement roadmap.

  • Act as warehouse interface to senior management, operations reviews, and audits.

  

EndtoEnd Warehouse Operations Ownership: 

  • Inbound / Receiving Control – Ensure on time receiving with correct system transaction only for part passing physical validation and incoming inspection. 

  • Storage & Preservation – Ensure on time put away with proper location control in system under environment control as per specification. Clear segregation of non-compliance material both system and physical location. 

  • Picking, Kitting & Staging – Ensure on time full kit completeness follow FIFO or FEFO where applicable and drive zero kitting error. 

  

Inventory Management & Accuracy: 

  • Own overall inventory accuracy and drive cycle counting strategy, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. 

  • Manage aging, excess, and obsolete inventory with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain & Finance. 

  • Ensure 100% traceability for serial & lotcontrolled materials. 

  

Quality, Compliance & Audit Readiness: 

  • Ensure compliance with ISO / customer quality requirements, SOPs & QMS procedures, ESD, HSE, and material handling standards. 

  • Lead warehouse team in supporting internal, customer and regulatory audits and own warehouserelated NCRs, CAPAs, and preventive actions. 

  • Maintain complete document control. 

 

CrossFunctional Coordination: 

  • Own effective use of ERP / WMS for inventory transactions, lot & serial tracking and location accuracy. 

  • Drive process digitalization & automation where feasible. 

  • Ensure data integrity supporting production planning, finance reporting and audit compliance. 

  

Continuous Improvement & Cost Control: 

  • Lead Lean / 5S / Kaizen initiatives within warehouse. 

  • Apply improvement methods and tools defined to reduce waste, improve efficiency and increase overall productivity. 

  • Foster Continuous Improvement Culture within warehouse. 

  

Safety & Risk Management:  

  • Ensure compliance with material handling safety, forklift operations and hazardous material requirements where applicable. 

  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigation plans, enforce incident reporting and corrective actions. 

  • Maintain a strong safety culture within warehouse team. 

  

Performance Management & Reporting: 

  • Own and drive warehouse metric set including safety, quality, cost and productivity, delivery and inventory. 

  • Conduct regular operational and issue review and preparing management report. 

  • Own people management including recruiting, developing, evaluating, motivating and retaining team to optimize their talent and maximize the efficient operation of the function. 

  • Any other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications & Competencies:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other related field with 12-15 years of experience in warehouse management, ideally within the semiconductor capital equipment or related high-tech, manufacturing industry.  

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills with at least 4 to 8 years in a supervisory or managerial role, managing a team of more than 50 personnel. 

  • Proven track record of successful logistics strategy and execution.

  • Strong understanding of Malaysian and international shipping regulations and compliance standards which involves customs regulations and import/export laws.  

  • Proficiency in analyzing data to monitor performance, forecast needs, and make informed decisions using advanced logistics software/ERP to manage inventory levels, track shipments, and optimize routes. 

  • Knowledge of Safety Protocols related to warehouse operations. Ability to communicate effectively in both shop floor settings and at executive reviews.  

  • High energy with the desire to drive change and create a world class manufacturing operation.  

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. 

  • Understanding budgeting, cost management, and financial factors is essential for making decisions balancing cost with service quality.  

  • Familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
