Job Summary:
The Principal Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in shaping Wellstar's enterprise architecture practice, driving adoption of standards, and ensuring technology investments align with business strategy.
This is a senior, hands-on role providing technical leadership across multiple domains (application, data, infrastructure, cloud, and security), while serving as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership. The Principal Enterprise Architect partners with stakeholders to define architecture patterns, roadmaps, and solutions that enable Wellstar to deliver on its mission of enhancing the health and well-being of every person we serve.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Partner with the AVP, Enterprise Architect to define and advance Wellstars enterprise architecture vision, standards, and frameworks.
Translate strategic business objectives into actionable architecture blueprints and roadmaps
Lead the design of complex, enterprise-wide solutions ensuring alignment with business capability models, technology roadmaps, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with domain and solution architects to ensure consistency and reuse of architecture patterns across projects.
Provide thought leadership in emerging technologies (cloud, AI, digital health, interoperability, cybersecurity) and assess their impact on Wellstar.
Mentor architects and engineers, raising the maturity of architecture practices across the IT organization.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

TOGAF 9/10 Preferred
ITIL Preferred
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 15 years Progressive IT experience, with at least 8 years in architecture roles. Required
Required Minimum Skills:
Strategic thinker with ability to translate business goals into architecture roadmaps.
Deep technical expertise across multiple domains (cloud, data, integration, security, infrastructure, digital).
Strong communication and presentation skills, able to influence executives and collaborate across clinical and technical teams.
Proven leadership in complex programs with cross-functional impact.
Ability to mentor and elevate architecture capabilities across the organization.
