FS Investments is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership and guidance to the Technology team, lead the design and architecture of complex technical applications, and evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks that align with business requirements. The Lead Engineer will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India and will work with the Head of Engineering to contribute to strategic decision-making and fostering a collaborative and educational environment while actively participating in hands-on technical enhancements and design. 

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Design, architect, and implement technical solutions to address business needs.
• Collaborate with the IT Architecture team to design and optimize build pipelines and workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using modern programming languages such as Python to streamline deployment and management tasks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members on best practices for solution design, engineering, and testing.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our organization.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Lead efforts to identify and implement technical standards in collaboration with IT Architecture.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, standards, and guidelines for team applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Software Development, preferably within financial services.
• Proven technical leadership in delivering high performance, complex systems.
• Knowledge of capital markets, investment or wealth management.
• Proven ability to investigate deep subject domains and make sense of them relatively quickly.
• Strong interpersonal skills to recruit and utilize busy but interested subject matter experts.
• Excellent understanding of system administration and management functions.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, graph databases, document stores and other cloud-based data processing capabilities.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve existing processes; knowledge of change management procedures.
• An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills; great attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and maintain focus.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within organization.

Preferred experience:

• Experience with Salesforce platform and integration.
• Experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, Glue, and CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with Github Actions for CI / CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of DBT for data transformation and modeling.
