Join Mercer’s Investment & Fund Services team as an Implementation Lead on a 12-month fixed term contract, where you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of complex projects and initiatives. You will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of key activities such as product changes, fund openings and closures, investment restructures, and client onboarding/offboarding. Working closely with internal teams like Investment Management and Product, as well as external partners including custodians, you will ensure smooth, compliant, and timely implementations that support our strategic goals.

In this role, you will take ownership of defining, documenting, and evidencing implementation activities, managing risks and dependencies, and continuously enhancing delivery standards. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented leader with strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and deep expertise in investment operations and fund services. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and deliver impactful outcomes will be key to your success.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead and coordinate multiple high-impact implementation projects across the Investment & Fund Services team, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery.
  • Partner with business leaders and external stakeholders to define, document, and execute implementation plans with clear governance and oversight.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in delivery and change management, championing best practices and tailored approaches.
  • Drive change adoption and cultivate a culture of engagement, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the teams.
  • Communicate transparently on project progress, risks, and escalations to key stakeholders including sponsors, workstream leaders, and third-party suppliers.
  • Manage dependencies across initiatives and collaborate with executive management to prioritize resources effectively.
  • Share lessons learned and continuously refine delivery methodologies to elevate team performance.

What you need to have:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading large, complex programs or projects, ideally within Funds Management, Custodians, Superannuation, or similar investment operations environments.
  • Proven expertise in investment operations, fund accounting, fund services, tax, and unit pricing.
  • Experience managing and coordinating implementation activities across geographically dispersed teams, including offshore and nearshore resources.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of business change delivery lifecycles and proficiency in multiple project management disciplines and methodologies.
  • Change management credentials and demonstrated experience leading people and client change journeys.

What makes you stand out:

  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder implementation initiatives with robust governance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to build alignment across diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and raising delivery standards.
  • Inspirational leadership style that motivates teams and aligns with Mercer’s values.
