Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s Crittenton Children’s Center in South Kansas City, MO is seeking a Hospital Therapist to join our team. This position functions as a member of the unit treatment team alongside BHTs, RNs, Individual therapists, and medical providers. Your experience and expertise will allow you to support the implementation of individualized treatment plans and provide trauma informed care for youth. Shift:  Monday – Friday 9-5; participates in on-call rotation for weekend coverage, typically one Saturday every 6 weeks

The Work:

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy and case management to children and adolescents in the acute psychiatric hospital
  • Participates in daily treatment team meetings to collaborate on care
  • Functions as the therapist for patients and families with the psychiatrist as clinical team leader.
  • Completes high quality safety plans with patients and families
  • Recommends and implements general therapeutic interventions both for individual clients and for overall program development.

We are seeking Hospital Therapists with experience working with children in acute settings. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles.  This position will require the skills necessary to develop communication systems that triage workloads daily. We are looking for someone with great verbal and written communication skills with a warm, caring approach. To be successful in this role, you must be a strong collaborator, skilled at building relationships, and able to quickly shift priorities. This position requires you to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.

Must have a master's degree and applicable MO license or obtain same within 120 days of hire (LMSW, LPC, PLPC, LCSW).
