This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful Indian River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.
Martin North Hospital has an 8-suite OR department that sees a large variety of surgical cases, including general, thoracic, robotics and cardiovascular surgical cases.
A caregiver in this position works 6:30am – 2:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist in transporting patients, room turnover and setting up the Operating Room.
Maintain and operate special equipment and surgical sets and ensure proper sterile conditions.
Coordinate equipment and supplies for service-specific surgical cases.
Monitor and track the loaning/lending of supplies and equipment and ensure the availability and functionality of equipment and supplies for their services.
Scrub in and provide limited assistance to surgeons, such as holding limbs, holding retractors, suctioning and sponging wounds.
Clean used instruments after surgery.
Maintain surgical sterility throughout procedures.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Understanding of surgical workflows, surgical terminology and physician preferences.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Sterile processing certification or Operating Room Technician (ORT) certification.
