Summary: Level 3 – Senior Engineer / Backup SME / Architect : Leads the design, optimization, and governance of enterprise backup infrastructure across hybrid environments. Drives automation, DR testing, and service improvement initiatives for Commvault, Azure Backup, and Veeam platforms. Roles & Responsibilities: • Design and implement global backup and recovery strategies. • Manage and optimize CommServe, Media Agents, Azure Vaults, and Veeam repositories. • Lead upgrades, capacity planning, and DR exercises. • Automate recurring tasks using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs. • Perform RCA for major incidents and recommend preventive measures. • Integrate on-prem and cloud backup solutions (Azure Blob, AWS S3, etc.). • Ensure compliance with security, retention, and regulatory standards. • Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers and conduct KT sessions. Professional & Technical Skills: • 5–10+ years of experience in enterprise backup infrastructure management. • Expert knowledge of Commvault architecture, Azure Backup, and Veeam Enterprise Plus / Cloud Connect. • Strong understanding of storage, virtualization, and networking. • Proven experience with multi-petabyte, cross-region environments. • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
