Volunteer Description:

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.

Greeters are often the first interaction our patients and families have upon their arrival to our facility. Coming to the hospital can be very stressful and having a knowledgeable volunteer there to welcome and guide families makes a big difference.   

Duties: 

  • Greet all families, staff, and visitors upon their arrival. 

  • Provide directions and when needed escort patients and families to appointments. 

  • Help maintain a tidy, clean appearance at the lobby desk. 

  • Ensure wheelchairs and wagons are clean and available at the front for patient use.  

  • Deliver gift shop orders and packages to patient rooms. 

  • Visit assigned new patient rooms to greet and welcome families and offer information on hospital resources. 

Time Commitment:  

One 3-hour shift per week for a minimum of 100 hours. 

Available Shifts: 

Tuesdays: 12-3pm

Wednesdays: 9am-12pm or 3-6pm

Thursdays: 12-3pm or 3-6pm

Fridays: 12-3pm

Qualifications: 

  • Friendly, mature, and able to interact in a positive and welcoming manner. 

  • Able to work well with a variety of people including patients, families, fellow volunteers, and hospital staff. 

  • Comfortable initiating conversations and guiding families. 

  • Ability to accept and respect cultural differences. 

  • Ability to follow and understand instructions. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
