The Engineering Sr Lead Analyst is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to drive a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Market Operations Technology teams are adopting the most effective ways of working and engineering practices to increase the rate of value delivery to stakeholders whilst halving production incidents for our most important system.
  • Ensuring the definition and documentation of best practice solutions to common delivery process problems within MOT and supporting teams in adopting them.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of high performing teams in a complex technology environment.
  • Impact the engineering function by contributing to technical direction and strategic decisions which supports our goals of faster and more stable delivery.
  • Ensure that Citi makes appropriate strategic choices in the onboarding, management and exiting of vendors from the product portfolio with a focus on selecting vendors technically and culturally aligned with our excellence in execution goals.
  • Develop and advocate for new solutions to undefined system needs, where no solution is available within the technical community.
  • Ensure products are ready and adhere to global operational standards for ongoing operation and support.
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ of relevant experience in an Engineering role
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
  • Project Management experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
  • Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Proven track record of operational process change and improvement

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred

The Head of Excellence in Execution for Market Operations Technology (MOT) will be responsible for working with the engineering teams, their leadership in MOT and their stakeholders in Markets Operations to deliver a doubling in release frequency, a halving of change lead time and a halving of production incident rates for the top 20 MOT applications.

The successful candidate will need extensive experience in the practical application of modern software engineering practices including DevSecOps, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Scrum and Kanban systems of work and how they can be applied in large enterprise environments.

The role will require extensive engagement with Technology and Market Operations senior leadership to make the commercial case for alternative ways of working. It will also involve hands-on support of engineering teams needing advice in how to overcome challenges preventing them from delivering greater value, more rapidly and with higher levels of stability.
