Your Role

As a Functional Consultant, you will deliver end to end solutions across the Capital Markets ecosystem. You will act as the key interface between business users and technology, helping clients implement, configure, test, and support the Murex platform across three major streams: 

Trading(Front Office, Sales & Trading) 

Operations & Finance (Operations, Settlement, Collateral, Accounting, Product Control) 

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Limits,) 

You will gain product expertise, business knowledge and client engagement via production support, solution design & implementation, presales and user trainings. 

 

Core Responsibilities (Common Across All Domains) 

Client Engagement & Daily Support 

  • Manage client tickets and enhancement requests endtoend: analysis → configuration → testing → deployment 

  • Communicate with business users and IT support desks 

  • Deliver user training; produce documentation and training materials 

Solution Design & Implementation 

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications 

  • Perform configuration, functional testing, SIT & UAT support, golive assistance 

  • Coordinate with internal product teams for release planning and updates 

Internal Initiatives & Product Evolution 

  • Channel client feedback and APAC market needs to development teams for product evolution 

  • Support internal projects to enhance operational efficiency, delivery quality, and knowledge sharing

1. Trading Consulting

Focus: Frontoffice for trading desks across asset classes. 

What You Work On 

  • Product configuration for pricing, booking, valuation, and P&L 

  • Trade lifecycle from trade capture to valuation and reporting 

  • Supporting Front Office, Market Risk Controllers, and Middle Office analysts 

  • Ensuring accurate valuations, clean P&L explain, and smooth FO operations 

 

2. Operations & Finance

Focus: Back Office operations, settlements, confirmations, collateral management, market infrastructure connectivity, accounting, official P&L production. 

What You Work On 

  • Full FronttoBack (F2B) lifecycle 

  • Settlements, confirmations, collateral management. 

  • Accounting (IFRS), financial control, and P&L analysis 

 

3. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

Focus: Risk analytics and risk operations for market risk, credit risk, and limits. 

What You Work On 

  • Risk measures: sensitivities, VaR, stress tests 

  • Credit exposure, counterparty risk, limits setup and monitoring 

  • Risk batch cycles, risk dashboards, data validation 

  • Close collaboration with quantitative, risk control, and compliance teams 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields. 

  • 0-4 years of relevant experience on Production Support or similar tasks.

  • CFA is a plus.

Technical Skills 

  • SQL (Oracle/Sybase), XML, Unix scripting 

  • Analytical mindset; strong problemsolving skills 

  • Quantitative background is a plus, especially for Trading or ERM 

  • Accounting background is a plus, especially for Finance 

Soft Skills 

  • Strong communicator and presenter 

  • Strong team collaboration 

  • Systematic problem solver; high attention to detail 

  • Clientoriented and teamoriented 

  • Able to travel in APAC / SEA region

6–12 months 

  • Independently owning production support activities 

  • Drive small feature delivery to client from requirements → design → deployment 

  • Contribute internal quality initiatives; present outcomes to stakeholders
