The Kepecs lab is seeking a dynamic and versatile Research Engineer to join our cutting-edge neuroscience lab. Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with neuroscientists to design and implement custom solutions for cutting-edge experiments.
  • Develop and maintain innovative research instruments, integrating electronics, mechanical design, and software.
  • Enhance and troubleshoot our existing array of custom-built equipment, including behavioral control setups, optogenetic interfaces, and data acquisition systems
  • Create user-friendly software interfaces to control experimental apparatus.
  • Document designs, procedures, and results to ensure reproducibility and knowledge transfer.
  • Opportunity to contribute to analysis of complex datasets and scientific manuscripts.
  • Mentor team members on technical aspects of neuroscience research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$55,200.00 - $100,000.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
