The Premier Financial Planning Leader is an enabler for deepening client relationships and deepening teammate skills/knowledge relative to mass affluent clients.
Responsible for managing and preparing financial plans using their background and deep technical planning expertise to drive positive client outcomes, new business revenue and enhance client retention/experience.
Success is measured against the ability to positively impact clients, the Truist Premier organization and Truist overall through the effective delivery of advice and planning.
Works with Premier Leadership to deepen the Financial Planning expertise within the Premier Banker population. Hosting and delivering formal continuing education meetings for Premier Bankers in an effort to impart subject matter expertise and upskill.
Will participate and at times lead financial plan delivery (client facing) in partnership with Premier Banker.
Will work in the region assigned but also utilized nationally at times, based on complexity of the client relationship and portfolio.
Collaborate with partners to ensure financial plans meet internal standards and uphold high performance expected for Premier clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Expertise & Impact:  Subject matter expert (SME) and thought leader in  financial planning concepts and be a resource for the advice and planning group in that area. Keeps current on planning trends and their application to solutions for our clients. In collaboration with Premier Bankers ensures complex clients receive expert-level service and advice.
2.    Advice Process Excellence:  Proven ability to effectively execute the financial planning and advice process: identify and prioritize goals and objectives, gather data, analyze current course and potential alternative courses of action, developing and presenting recommendations, partnering for implementation and monitoring progress.  
3.    Process Adherence:  Execute planning engagements with clients in compliance with all internal policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and legal guidelines Identifies at risk situations and keeping team and management informed.
4.    Technology:  Maintain proficiency in all planning software as well as company systems in order to not only analyze a client's needs but to efficiently determine the most advantageous outcomes.
5.    Advice Integration: Demonstrate strong understanding of the advice and planning process, how it relates to, is implemented, and is explained to teammates, clients, and prospects.  Ability to integrate process seamlessly into advice and planning model and relevant practice management models.
 6.    Coaching/Team Development: Proactively engage in the growth and development of teammates within Truist Premier.  Regularly collaborate, offer guidance, suggestions, and constructive feedback across Premier.
7    Productivity/Efficiency:  Workflow prioritization and time management, sensitivity to deadlines and appropriate allocation of resources in accordance with opportunity and complexity.
8.    Networking: Create strong working relationships with internal partners and external COI’s (attorneys, accountants, and other advisors) that work with segments to assure quality engagements and increased business opportunity.  Represent Truist in civic, community, government, banking and professional groups.
 9.    Other: Maintains and pursues professional credentials that are necessary or enhance ability to deliver superior client solutions. Assume additional responsibilities as requested by leadership and suggest enhancement ideas or other process improvements that align with the Truist Purpose, Mission and Values.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1.    Complex technical knowledge of issues relating to financial planning including, but not limited to: income tax, investments, debt management, retirement planning, employee benefits, stock options, insurance, estate planning, and business planning.
2.    Proven ability to get clients to take action.
3.     Bachelor’s degree

4.  CFP certification or comparable advanced knowledge course of study- (JD, LLM, MS in Taxation, MSFS, ChFC, CFP, CPA, CFA)

5. A minimum of Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, 66 (63 and 65 in lieu of 66) and applicable Insurance licenses (Life, Health, and Variable) must be active and maintained, or must be obtained within 100-150 days of job entry date.  Active FINRA licenses must be transferred within 60 days of job entry date.  Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant with 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration, and applicable NMLS acceptable background check.

6.  Strong interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills.  Demonstrated ability maintain productive working relationships with internal partners.

7.  Advanced verbal, problem solving, and analytical skills 

8.  Proven experience with group facilitation, presentations, and public speaking 

9. Strong computer software and related technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite
10.  The ability to lead and manage projects relevant to Premier

Preferred Qualifications:
1.    12 or more years of experience with area(s) of concentration specifically in financial planning and wealth management or affiliated industries
2.    5 or more years of leadership experience
