The Role
The Social Impact Advisor plays a key role in delivering Norton Rose Fulbright’s Responsible Business agenda across EMEAPAC. The Advisor will support strategy execution, manage key programmes end‑to‑end, build strong relationships across the firm, and act as a visible champion for Social Impact, in particular, volunteering, social mobility and community engagement. The Advisor will work closely with the Head of Social Impact & Sustainability Manager to drive forward initiatives that enhance our societal impact, support our people, and strengthen our long-standing commitment to Social Impact. This role is critical in ensuring our Responsible Business programmes translate into measurable social impact, high employee engagement, and high‑quality external relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the ongoing support and implementation of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Responsible Business strategy ensuring the programme aligns with Norton Rose Fulbright’s business principles.
- Provide operational oversight for Social Impact programme with particular focus on the firm’s social mobility, fundraising, community and volunteering initiatives. Taking ownership of key workstreams and delivering them with minimal supervision.
- Be seen as a champion and encourage the responsible business and community support interests within Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and co-ordinate projects to reflect these interests (where appropriate) and encourage consistent contribution to community support across all practice areas.
- Work in partnership with the Head of Social Impact & Sustainability Manager for the administration of the Norton Rose Fulbright LLP Charitable Foundation.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders including Head of Pro bono, Head of Responsible Business & Wellbeing; Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Marketing & Communications and Learning & Development teams to ensure a consistent approach to Responsible Business.
- Sit and participate in the Core working group for the firm’s strategic charitable partner
- Administration and delivery of the firm’s schools’ outreach and social mobility programme and end-to-end delivery of the firm’s work experience programme RISE and administration and delivery of Scholars, the Norton Rose Fulbright bursary.
- Implementing and supporting key Responsible business initiatives, programmes and projects as needed including mentoring programmes and client social impact partnerships.
- Participation and minute taking as a member of such committees as the practice shall appoint for the management of its responsible business activities including the Norton Rose Fulbright Charitable Foundation and Responsible business committee.
- Support the Head of Social Impact and Sustainability Manager in working with the bids team in relation to requests for responsible business input.
- Administration of centrally organised volunteering opportunities including promotion and liaising with volunteers and acting as a point of contact for employees with an interest in or query about Social Impact and volunteering.
- Analyse participation, engagement and impact data to produce high‑quality reports, insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders
External Management
- Maintain strong relationships with charitable partners, community groups, corporate responsibility organisations/networks and other firms to ensure the firm’s engagement feels consistent and high‑quality.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to collate information to build external recognition of the Social Impact activities, award nominations and directory submissions.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to update the annual Responsible business report for Norton Rose Fulbright.
Key Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience delivering social impact, social mobility or community investment programmes, either within a professional services environment or a purpose‑led organisation.
- Comfortable operating in a professional services environment, balancing competing priorities and working with senior and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and build trust with colleagues at all levels of the firm.
- A proactive, self‑starter mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, solve problems and drive work forward independently
- Experience designing or delivering engaging workshops, outreach activities or sessions for young people or early‑career audiences.
