About The Role
Reporting to the Employee Benefits Operations Lead, the role is responsible for researching competitive and comprehensive benefit packages for clients. They develop relationships with carriers, research and analyze carrier options and collaborate with the account manager and client advisor team to understand the specific benefits needs of the clients. The Benefits Marketing Representative prepares proposals for the account managers and assists with the enrollment process as needed. They stay updated on industry trends and provide ongoing support to the account manager teams regarding carrier and client related issues. Additionally, they collaborate with internal teams to develop client acquisition and retention strategies and maintain accurate records for carrier interactions. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, a background n employee benefits and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the account management team to create effective communication materials, including brochures, presentations to support sales efforts.

  • Prepare proposals for clients, outlining the recommended carrier options and benefit packages.

  • Assist with enrollment process, including coordinating with carriers and providing necessary documentation when needed.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in benefit offerings to provide clients with the most up-to9-date information.

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to account management and client advisor team regarding carrier-related issues, such as claims processing and coverage questions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and account management, to develop strategies for client acquisition and retention.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for carrier interactions, proposals, and client communication.

  • Performs regular billing audits and reconciliation.

  • Assists with HRIS/BenAdmin system implementation, renewal updates and testing/review.

  • Assists with new plan implementations.

  • Responsible for printing, binding of sales and renewal presentations and coordination of enrollment kit orders.

  • Manages renewal data in agency management system for IFP, Life and micro groups.

Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in correspondence. 

  • High degree of critical thinking; ability to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent. 

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors. 

  • Understanding of insurance concepts and applicable law as it related to employee benefits. 

  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS Office 

  • Works well with minimal supervision; able to function independently and as part of a team. 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in employee benefits industry or human resources is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced, professional office setting is required.

  • Previous insurance experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience. 

  • L&H license required.
