About the Role
As Senior Vice President, Software Engineering Leader you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all software engineering teams and enterprise architects. Reporting directly to the CTO, this leader will drive the innovation, scalability, and delivery excellence of modern retail technology platforms that power omnichannel experience and enterprise growth.
What You’ll Do
Define and execute the software engineering and enterprise architecture strategy to support digital commerce, marketing, merchandising, supply chain, stores, and enterprise functions
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing organization, including engineering leaders, architects, and individual contributors
Establish and enforce engineering standards, agile development practices, and architecture principles to ensure secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions
Guide enterprise architecture initiatives to modernize legacy systems and deliver integrated technology platforms across channels
Partner closely with product management, data, security and infrastructure teams to deliver technology solutions that enhance customer and associate experiences
Champion continuous delivery, DevOps, and automation practices to increase speed-to-market and operational efficiency
Govern engineering portfolios including prioritization, resourcing, and delivery of strategic retail technology initiatives
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning across engineering and architecture teams
Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to the CTO and executive leadership team on technology performance and opportunities
Monitor retail industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive innovations to inform strategic direction and maintain a market-leading technology edge

What Skills You Have
Required
15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in executive leadership roles overseeing large, complex organizations
Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering organizations (200+ associates) in retail or a comparable customer-centric industry
Strong background in enterprise architecture, system design, and modern retail technology platforms (cloud, APIs, microservices, e-commerce, POS, supply chain)
Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders and drive technology strategies that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes
Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and align diverse teams
