Course: Interface Design 3: Application Design

This course focuses on the web design prototyping process including research, wireframes, design comps, and interactive mock-ups that address a creative brief. Students learn website production, as well as Search Engine Optimization as it applies to design assets. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop, mouse, and subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud. 

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
• Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
• Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, or a related discipline
• Master’s degree and 3+ years of professional design industry experience preferred

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Expertise in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), such as WordPress
• Strong understanding of the design thinking process
• Knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and current design trends

Technical Proficiency

• Ability to teach using the most current version of:
  • Adobe XD (Adobe Experience Design)
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
• Candidates must supply their own software and hardware, as GCU does not provide these outside campus classrooms

Additional Requirements

• A portfolio of recent, professional design work is required with the application
• Relevant job backgrounds may include: Product Designer or UX/UI Designer
