Job Description Summary

An Engineer in Outage Engineering will develop and deliver Outage Servicing Tools and Equipment that are used during maintenance, inspection, refueling and outages in both Boiling Water Reactors and Pressurized Water Reactors at domestic and international Nuclear Plants. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, analysis and testing of new products and technology to meet customer needs and overcome complex technical challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Engineer you will:

  • Execute the design, and development for specialty tooling and equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements.
  • Develop Outage Servicing Tooling of medium to high complexity.
  • Proactively communicate and deliver assignments on time.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risk.
  • Communicate technical detail to fabricators and technicians through the generation of fabrication drawings, specifications, and direct communication.
  • Generate operational instructions for newly developed tools and equipment.
  • Contribute to the success of others by providing feedback and technical input during design reviews and verifications.
  • Provide emergent issue response to Field Services teams and Customers as required.
  • Interface with a broad, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to obtain commercial nuclear site entry.
  • Ability to travel to commercial nuclear sites as required (<20%).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 1 year of commercial nuclear experience

  • The required work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
