Job Overview

As the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations at The Walt Disney Company, you will play a pivotal role in managing the investor relations strategy with a focus on increasing shareholder value. This executive position involves executing a comprehensive strategy around investor messaging, facilitating understanding of the Company's operations and financials with the investment community, and serving as a primary liaison between management and investors. You will work closely with the EVP, Head of Strategy & Investor Relations, CFO, business segment heads, and other leadership team members to communicate the Company's strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives effectively.

Responsibilities

The Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive investor relations strategy that aligns with the company's goals and performance. This role is crucial in maintaining and building relationships within the investment community, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team within the investor relations department. The role matters in the company as it helps optimize the company's value and reputation, requiring strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and dynamic leadership.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Company's businesses, operations, financial performance, and strategies through continuous collaboration with key Company leaders and business partners.
  • Build and maintain key relationships within the investment community, including current and prospective shareholders. Proactively anticipate and drive key investor messages based on company performance, industry events, and competitive dynamics.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Participate in developing quarterly earnings materials and preparations for meetings/conferences with investors and analysts, collaborating with the legal and financial reporting departments to assure compliance with all securities laws and regulations.
  • Partner with critical internal stakeholders to manage the preparation and execution of quarterly earnings calls, analyst conferences, investor days, investor calls, and annual shareholder meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Define strategies, expectations, and priorities by making well-informed strategic choices and turning them into business outcomes.
  • Lead a team within the investor relations department, providing guidance and support to ensure effective communication and execution of investor relations strategies.

Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Investor Relations or finance industry, corporate finance, investment banking, or related fields within the financial services industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Dynamic leader, who leads by example and mentors a team to meet high profile and dynamic objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of experience involving significant financial communications, investment management, equity/fixed income research analysis, finance or related field that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for the role
  • Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or Strategic Management

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY. is $380,400 - $510,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
